About

You can't leave Ipoh without having the dish that's synonymous with the city – taugeh (bean sprouts) with chicken rice. And at Ipoh Hainan Chicken Rice, which is a halal-certified eatery, you can! You will love the flavoursome poached chicken served with light soy sauce. The dish is best eaten with a serving of boiled bean sprouts together with a bowl of smooth and fragrant rice. The icing on the cake? The delicious chilli sauce to dip your chicken in!

Had a late lunch with a group of good friends, as we're sharing the dishes. The chicken is good, the tofu is very nice. Delicious Chinese style food.

Picky eater rating: 10/10 Review might be a bit biased because I do have nostalgic sentiments link to this restaurant as it has been my favourite since childhood. However, the nasi ayam has never changed. 10/10. I come here almost every other month. Every time a new friend comes to visit from outside Ipoh, I would bring them here and all of them have enjoyed the food!

My favourite halal chinese chicken rice in Ipoh that I truly feel is much better than the rest. In saying that, the taste is unique to Ipoh but I love the roasted chicken that is crispy yet still retains its juiciness. The steamed version is so flavourfull despite being firm to touch with a nice mouth feel. Some may say it is on the pricier side but what do you say to the portion that when you finish your rice, you still have leftover chicken. The down side is that if you want drumstick or thigh with your rice, you have to add fifty cents for each but still much less than other establishments that have the same practise. And yes do order the side dishes where the soy bean sprouts is a must. This is Ipoh after all. This shop never fails to satisfy each time we dine there.
