Nice open space for hanging out in the heart of Jakarta city. Although, it will be very hot if you go there when the sun is out. The best time to go here is either at morning for a short run/walk, or at afternoon if you just want to enjoy the place with family and friends.

The West Irian Liberation Monument is a monument built to commemorate the Trikora fighters and the people of West Irian who chose to become part of the Republic of Indonesia. This monument is in the middle of Lapangan Banteng and is 35 meters high. The shape of the monument is a statue made of bronze. People can enjoy the dancing fountain every weekend at night. The show started at 18.30 an 19.30
