The waterfall is amazing, water so clean and refreshing. Fishes and wildlife in abundance (insects, monkey and Giant lizard/komodo?). Not many mosquitoes but still good to be prepared. We could only make it up to level 3 but we hear level 7 has the best view. Do come prepared for 3-4hrs hike to complete the whole trial (boots, long pants etc). We took a Grab over ~350baht. We paid our driver to wait for us for 2hrs and to bring us to the floating market ~500baht. Otherwise, a really good place to chill and have picnics too, just be careful of monkeys.

? A Must-Visit Natural Gem – Ton Nga Chang Waterfall, Songkhla, Thailand ? If you’re a nature lover or someone looking to reconnect with the outdoors, Ton Nga Chang Waterfall is an unforgettable destination that deserves a spot on your itinerary. Nestled deep within the Ton Nga Chang Wildlife Sanctuary in Hat Yai district, this majestic multi-tiered waterfall is one of Southern Thailand’s most breathtaking natural wonders. From the moment we entered the protected park area, we were greeted by lush greenery, fresh mountain air, and the serene sound of cascading water in the distance. The waterfall itself is divided into seven levels, each with its own unique charm and viewpoint. The most famous is the third tier, known as “Ton Nga Chang”, or “Elephant Tusk Falls,” where the water splits into two powerful streams, resembling the tusks of an elephant—truly a sight to behold! The trail leading to the upper levels is moderately challenging, offering a bit of adventure for hikers and nature enthusiasts. It’s well-maintained but natural, so wearing proper shoes is a must. Along the way, you’ll pass large boulders, shaded jungle paths, and small pools where visitors can rest or take a refreshing dip. It’s easy to lose track of time while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and stunning views. ? Highlights: • Crystal-clear freshwater streams perfect for dipping your feet or swimming • Excellent photo spots at almost every level • Great for picnics, but do bring your own trash bag • Family-friendly up to level 2 or 3; more adventurous hiking beyond that • Wildlife sightings: butterflies, birds, and even monkeys if you’re lucky! ? A Gentle Reminder to All Visitors: With increasing popularity, it’s more important than ever to protect and preserve this natural treasure. Please do not leave trash behind—bring your waste down with you and use the bins provided. Avoid using soap or shampoo in the streams, as they pollute the water and harm aquatic life. And please, never feed wild animals, as it disrupts their natural behavior and diet. ? Let’s all do our part to respect the beauty of nature so that future generations can enjoy it just as we have. The waterfall is clean, vibrant, and full of life—let’s keep it that way. ? Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but photos, and keep nature as you found it.

It is a small waterfall about 25 kilometers from Hat Yai. There are fish that can be fed. Children can play in the water comfortably. It is not deep and is suitable for relaxation.

Unspoiled nature so close to Hat Yai city. Virgin forest with 5km nature trail looping alongside the waterfall. The waterfall itself is amazing too. Be warned there are leeches in water upstream in waterfall section 3 and above. Ask me how I know.
