Sunder Nursery, formerly known as Azim Bagh or Bagh-e-Azeem, is a 90-acre heritage park adjacent to Humayun’s Tomb in New Delhi. Established in the early 20th century by the British to propagate plants for the new capital’s avenues, the nursery has evolved into a significant ecological and cultural landmark.  The park houses 20 heritage structures, six of which are UNESCO World Heritage monuments, including Sunder Burj, Sundarwala Mahal, and Lakkarwala Burj. Extensive restoration efforts led by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture have revitalized these monuments and the surrounding landscape. In addition to its historical significance, Sunder Nursery serves as Delhi’s first arboretum, featuring over 300 native tree species, some rare and unique to the region. The park also supports diverse wildlife, with approximately 80 bird species and 36 butterfly species recorded.  Visitors can explore various themed gardens, lakes, and an amphitheater that hosts cultural events. The park is open daily, with timings varying seasonally: • April to September: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (last entry at 6:30 PM) • October to March: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM (last entry at 5:30 PM) Entry fees are as follows: • Indian/SAARC visitors: ₹35 • Foreign tourists: ₹100 • Children (5-12 years): ₹15 • Senior citizens (above 60 years): ₹15 Sunder Nursery has been recognized internationally; in 2018, Time magazine listed it among the “100 Greatest Places in the World.” Its blend of Mughal-era monuments, rich biodiversity, and cultural spaces makes it a unique destination in Delhi.

THE BEST PICNIC SPOT IN DELHI (Paid though) Goddamn this would be the most perfect place to hangout in Delhi - fit for all sorts of groups. You can come here with your family, friends, partner or whoever it is. The place is so beautiful and it’s close to Humayun‘s Tomb. There’s so much space. You can bring food or buy it from here as there’s a small shop space here. It’s equally wonderful in the day and at night. The security was pretty helpful and there’s like a lot of greenery and flowers and a lot of space in general. Come here in the evening, lay down on the grass and just stare at the sky. I would also say that it is well maintained.
