I came across this historical monument on my way to Gurudwara Damdama Sahib. It was closed during my visit and appears to be currently under restoration. Nonetheless, it is a fine example of Islamic architecture located only a few miles from India gate. Definitely worth stopping by for a visit. A brief history of this site is as follows: Sabz Burj is an octagonal Mughal-era mausoleum situated at an intersection on Mathura Road, near Nizamuddin complex, west of Humayun's Tomb, Delhi. Constructed in 1530s, it is among the earliest Mughal-era buildings and features rare patterns inspired by Timurid architecture from Central Asia.

Standing tall amidst the chaos of Delhi, Sabz Burj is a hidden gem from the Mughal era. With its stunning blue-tiled dome and intricate Arabic calligraphy, this monument whispers stories of the past. I tried to capture its grandeur at night, where the warm lighting meets the cool hues of the dome, creating a mesmerizing contrast. Every arch, every tile, every detail speaks of a forgotten legacy.
