This magnificent Hindu temple, tucked away on a side street, near Chinatown, should be listed among the ‘must see’ tourist attractions in Kuala Lumpur. At the top of the entrance door, there is a tall pyramid-shaped tower decorated with sculptures of Hindu gods. Ladies must cover their upper body and legs. All visitors must remove their shoes before entering. The men at the entrance provide shawls for the ladies and accept shoes for storage for a few RM. When I asked the man at the entrance (the one who took the money), about the year of construction, he replied that it was around the late 1800s. There are many different statues of Hindu gods decorating the walls both inside and outside. It is a captivating place with wonderful art and history

Beautiful colourful Hindu temple. Enter slightly to the left of the main entrance via a small room where you must leave your shoes for a very small fee. Women must cover their legs - you can also rent a sarong from the shoe person for next to nothing.

Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, dedicated to the Mother Goddess, is a venerable Hindu temple with a rich history. Established in 1873, it stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Tamil culture. During my visit on a weekday at around 2:30 PM, I discovered that the temple (Kovil) was closed for religious observances. However, the side entrance remained open, allowing visitors to explore the premises and capture photographs.

One of the best well maintained and beautiful temple experiences including from back in India. They served delicious Prasadam on Saturday night.

Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is one of the oldest Hindu landmarks in Kuala Lumpur, known for its colorful and intricate facade. A great place for photography and experiencing the city's cultural diversity. My visit was solely for photography, with no religious involvement.?????
