A visit to the royal palace was a nice cultural experience. While it is busy with plenty of tourists, it was an interesting look into the architecture, religious history and more of the country. There are some areas you can’t enter as they’re still used, and some more areas may be closed if foreign political guests are visiting and being received. The silver pagoda was an impressive display and it was an enjoyable morning wandering around. When it’s hot there are fans in buildings that help keep the heat manageable and cold drinks/ice blocks can be purchased near the exit. The temple cats are looked after and were cute to see as well. It didn’t take long to get in and once we were there weren’t lines to get in certain buildings. Please remember to show respect - cover shoulders and knees, take off shoes inside some buildings when asked/signed and don’t take photos of areas that are posted as not for photography.

With its well-manicured gardens and intricately designed Khmer architecture, Phnom Penh's golden yellow Royal Palace is a stark reminder to all visitors locals and foreign alike that Cambodia is a still a monarchy; Truly beautiful inside and outside at any given time of the day. However, the steep price of $10.25 is a deterrent when considering almost all buildings are only viewed from a distance. Visitors cant stroll around the gardens when gardens are meant for you to simmer the walk and this is a missed experience itself and I would understand the common tourist to skip it. Also, the Palace is beautiful but it needs a bit of re-polishing as the murals are not very visible.

Wandering around here on your own is great, when I went it was crazy hot, but still worth it. I loved the frescoes on the wall, the architecture was beautiful (especially as someone who studied architecture!) and unique, and I enjoyed meandering around in my own time and soaking it in. $10.25 for entry, no audio guide available Please wear clothes to cover knees and shoulders

Very beautiful palace. I was there at around 2.30 PM and it was super sunny. If you expect a shade, there were not many shades to hide. When I was there, the king was inside the palace but it was hard to see him. I've heard that sometimes people can see him at around 4-4.30 PM. There were not many people there. The guide of the palace took me around and told me about the tradition, the design, the history and everything else. The wall and the temple behind were stunning. Very good place to pray. When the tour ended, they gave me a bottle of water.

I visited the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh and really enjoyed it. The ticket costs $10 USD for foreigners, and I think it’s worth the price. If you are visiting the city, this place is a must-see! The buildings are very beautiful, with golden roofs and amazing designs. If you like art, history, or architecture, you will enjoy it even more. The Silver Pagoda inside is also very impressive. It’s also a great place to take nice photos, especially for Instagram. The whole area is clean, peaceful, and full of culture. I loved the visit and I highly recommend it to anyone coming to Phnom Penh!
