Great day out for the family and tourists. Picnic facilities and a very easy island to walk around. Their Penguin rescue program is fantastic. They rehabilitate and release the little penguins into safe areas free of predators. A great day out

Unfortunately we couldn’t get to see penguins in the wild on Penguin Island (you shouldn’t expect it, chance is low) but I’m glad we paid a visit to Penguin Island Discovery Centre to see them up close. It’s a small penguin viewing facility, having 10 small penguins with a pool. The keeper talk during feeding session was very informative and educational (although little kids might get distracted on the way). Each penguin has its name, it’s great to hear their noise which was my first experience. The staff’s passion and care for the penguins and conservation was great.

Had a wonderful day and even though we didn't get to see many dolphins or seals it was still worth it just to get out closer to the islands, which are not only rock but some are fossilized tree roots. Boat tours are always risky, sometimes you get a heap of marine life and other days nothing. Still would recommend doing this.

We had a wonderful day visiting the island. A calm casual boat trip. Easy walking. The boardwalks make it easy to get around the island and protect the island. Short walk to the top of each of the two hills on the island. So many seagulls sitting on their eggs (May) and skinks everywhere, pelicans galore and a myriad of other wildlife including a lazy sea lion beached in front of the picnic grassed area. The staff are wonderful, friendly. It was such a chilled time. The views are incredible.

I heard they might be closing soon which is a little sad. I've been twice, once in February and once in end of March. Everything looks nicer in February, but the March visit wasn't bad either. You won't see any wild penguins on this island, they appear when all the people leave. The discovery center is the only way of observing some of them. Lovely surrounding if you can get around on the water.
