This is such a beautiful garden in Hong Kong. I wasn't expecting it to be so calm and quiet! And it's free entry. The collection of bonsai trees and plants is fantastic. Excellent place for a day out walking around the well-kept gardens and lotus ponds. Just keep in mind there are lots of benches but no food or eating is allowed.
This is one of those places that really surprises you. It’s right in the middle of the city, but the moment you step in, it’s calm, peaceful, and so beautiful. Everything is so well-kept — the trees, the rocks, the little bridges — it’s like walking through a painting. The garden isn’t huge, but it’s perfect for a quiet walk or just to sit and relax. There’s also a traditional Chinese tea house and a vegetarian restaurant inside, which adds to the peaceful vibe. You don’t feel like you’re in busy Hong Kong at all. Honestly, if you’re looking for a break from the noise and crowds, Nan Lian Garden is a lovely place to go. Clean, quiet, and really well designed. Highly recommend for a peaceful afternoon.
Take the over bridge from the Lotus garden at Chi Lin Nunnery to reach the Nan Lian Garden, a huge garden and area. Unfortunately, the place was under renovation when we visited. But still it looks really nice and picturesque. The main building and the lake below it is all covered up. The garden spreads quite some area and has multiple shops and a museum as well inside it. Can spend a couple of hours here to cover the entire place. Do visit! ??
A very nicely maintained garden, feel like you are in Kyoto….. unfortunately there are quite a lot of areas now under renovation/ maintenance work. But still it’s really nice to have a walk here. Free entry and very close to MTR station. You can also visit the temple next to it.
