Nice short walk. Trail is well marked. Easy boardwalk and then limestone. Surprised by the very green & thick vegetation on the other side of the lake. Visited end of December and the lake looks healthy. Stromatolites are close to the boardwalk & easy to see. There is a bitchemen carpark and picnic tables. No toilet.

The key reason I stopped at this location was to learn (and see) about stromatolites. Another great example of a well thought out Australia park destination. Sealed car park, picnic tables, 1.5 km easy walk around lake with part of the walk sealed or on a raised walkway. Be aware that on the walk around lake, vegetation obstructs your view for about half of the walk. On the plus side, you're likely to see at least two kangaroos, birds, and perhaps a lizard sunning itself like I did.

Was going to give Lake athletics a miss but so glad we didn’t. Called in after a visit to the Pinnacles and was rewarded with getting the lake completely to ourselves. Wandered out enjoyed learning about the Stronatolites and seeing the birdlife on the lake. Gorgeous!!

It’s very interesting to learn about the stromatolites. Also a very relax morning walk around Lake Thetis. We saw a pelican and other wild birds. If you drop by Cervantes should come to have a look!

Very cool learning more about a 600 million year old organism. It isn't exciting it is cool to see history and view Stromatolites as there are so few places in the world one can see them.
