The Great Wall of China is a world wonder in the truest sense — a colossal feat of human endurance, vision, and perseverance. Walking its paths is walking through thousands of years of history, built stone by stone, tower by tower. It’s massive, humbling, and unforgettable. Of all the Seven Wonders, this one captures the idea of a “Wonder” through its scale, symbolism, and longevity. It’s not just a site — it’s a journey in itself. Whether it’s your first or your final Wonder, the Great Wall leaves an impression that doesn’t fade.
An excellent hike! Very nice to take in all the scenery and learn about the history of this amazing wall. Make sure you go to the bathroom before you start and bring water and maybe a little snack to keep your energy up, because there are a lot of steep steps to climb up.
It’s unique experience, you will feel its majesty the surroundings will tell you that you are at the border for war. When you enter the area it’s another challenging experience, especially when it’s winter it’s freezing it will give you feelings of great people who made this wall without the rest and facing the fear of enemy if not enemy the harsh weather and magnitude of loneliness.
You can’t go to China without visiting the Great Wall it’s really a unique experience amazing beautiful breathtaking, u can go there by yourself but mostly ppl book in advance with other companies, there are two sides u can go both ways, rent a cable car it’s the best and u can walk around , we went was 36 degrees but we still make it , there are restaurants to eat and chill too , when it comes to souvenirs always negotiate , they go down even 70% so be clever . Highly recommended!
This is a good historic centre. Check the weather before going, it was a rainy one so I had to get going slowly not to slip. They sell anti-slip show covers, you can get those as well. Loved it. My leg still hurts from the so many stairs I climbed to the top. Don't give up, it'll test you, the higher you go, the easier it gets but you're tired.
