cnr and, Little Collins St & Royal Arcade, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia
Set in Melbourne's beautiful and very historical Royal Arcade, the Gog and Magog clock might not be much to look at but it certainly is also very historical. I haven't actually been there on the hour to hear the clock chime but must one day do so. I love the bell ringers (the large sculptures on either side). A must see.
It has been here forever. Must see. Short walk from Bourke St Mall. Part of a series of lanes and malls from Bourke St to Flinders St. Start here in the Royal Arcade.
I mean, you can't come and *not* take a look at these oddities, can you? Meet Gog and Magog, who have been keeping watch next to the giant clock since 1892. They're each 7 feet tall, and they were installed because they'd be 'good for business'. Indeed.
Adorable figures with an incredible history! Worth the stop if you’re in the area. The arcade has a lot of other cool shops, as well.
Another reason to visit the Royal Arcade. If you are there, don't miss the two bell ringers of the clock.
