7 Kennedy Rd, Central, Hong Kong
The place is really nice, all birds look healthy, fly around freely and come closer to people only if they want to. There are some places to sit, so you can stay there for some time, enjoying birds’ songs or simply watch at them. The place is free to visit.
Edward Youde was a former governor of Hong Kong and this aviary was built in his honour and opened in the early 90's. It's quite a large aviary and the highlight for me was how the birds can actually interact with you. Well there's also a section of caged birds but the large aviary is totally open with a large in the middle for people to walk through
Was surprised about the abundance of tropical plants all around and the beautiful birds flitting around! It was so beautiful and gave us a nice activity to do in HK when the views were obstructed by the clouds. It was also free entry with optional donation. Truly beautiful area!!!
The environment js very comfortable. A bird paradise in the center of the city. The birds are friendly, you can just stand next to them and take pictures as you want.
A green sanctuary inside the HK park, located in the heart of city, amidst skyscrapers and high rise buildings. Free entry. Visited on a Monday morning. Very well designed / made and even better maintained. While walking through the aviary on the wooden pathways, you come across an amazing variety of birds in a habitat as close to their natural habitat as possible. The displays / write ups include details of the species living inside. Kids had fun and can easily spend half an hour inside this aviary.
