Bel Retiro Jalan Tunku Yahaya Petra, Penang Hill, 10000, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia
Amazing nice old historical building just next to the present mosque nothing much to see but good to admire the old structure when at same time visit the mosque and Hindu temple, nice view of the town, nature
Bel Retiro on Penang Hill is a historic mansion that once served as the residence of the Governor of Penang during the colonial era. Built in the late 18th century, it boasts stunning colonial architecture and lush gardens, reminiscent of a bygone era of British rule in Malaysia. Today, Bel Retiro stands as a heritage site, offering visitors a glimpse into the island's colonial past. While the mansion is not open to the public, its exterior and surrounding grounds are still a sight to behold. The tranquil atmosphere and scenic beauty of Bel Retiro make it a popular spot for leisurely walks and photography, attracting both locals and tourists alike.
The gate house Bel Retiro is a must visit building if u are in Penang hill for the first time. Small but well maintained colonial building built in 1789.
This small petite castle reminds me of old colonial British houses. The white design and outdoor settings are a great place for old timey photography. The view isn't as good as other sites on the hill, but with the right angle you can truly get a beautiful perspective of just how tall you've really reached
