Definitely a scenic waterfall but not too spectacular, probably because the volume of water was low. Walking the suspension bridge to get across to the waterfall adds a bit of adventure to the experience. There are natural pools that seemed safe for a dip. So please make sure you take your swimwear when you visit the falls.
A serene and breathtaking waterfall! Babara Kiri Ella is a perfect getaway for nature lovers, with its frothy white cascades surrounded by lush greenery. The trek is enjoyable, and the spot is ideal for relaxation and photos. Not too crowded, so you can truly appreciate the peaceful ambiance. Be cautious of slippery rocks if you visit during the rainy season. Highly recommend for anyone exploring Sri Lanka’s hidden gems.
We visited Bambarakiriella Falls on 15.02.2025. We were able to reach very close to the falls by bike, but unfortunately, the bridge to cross the waterfall was closed. Despite that, we were still able to get close to the falls and enjoy the stunning natural beauty of the area. The sight was breathtaking, and the surroundings were peaceful, making it a great spot to appreciate nature. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
A small waterfall in Matale, renowned for its breathtaking scenic beauty. I've visited a couple of times with friends there. Once in mid-January, when the water levels were low. Quite enjoyed that visit. The second visit was in October 2023 during the rainy season where we could see the full flow of the waterfall and the areas adjacent to the waterfall were almost flooded. It was great for taking photos but couldn't do anything else. There's a hanging bridge that connects two ends of the valley adjacent to the waterfall. It's got repaired and in better condition than a few years ago.
