A2, Weligama 81700, Sri Lanka
Absolutely loved everything about this hotel- the rooms, the ambience, the views, the pool and beach and most of all the wonderful staff! Ample choice for breakfast, (addicted to the buffalo curd!) lots of choice on the main menu and the fastest servicing of rooms I have ever encountered. It also has a very reasonably priced spa where I had the greatest massage. Everyone was so pleasant and friendly and it ended up being our favourite place during a 16 day holiday in Sri Lanka. Lovely pool area and the beach is so nice for swimming and to watch everyone learning to surf especially at the end of the day at sunset. Went to Mirissa for the day but really preferred Weligama for the long stretch of beach and overall feel.
Still a nicely designed, colonial-feel place with great wooden flooring and rattan furniture throughout, but it has faded since my last visit and it is showing signs of letting itself down, which should not happen at the prices charged. Good: Service good. Cleanliness of the room good. Staff serving and cooking breakfast very friendly and helpful. Reception staff friendly and efficient. Bad: Reception counter looking tatty, especially the worn out chairs the receptionists use. Bathroom needs de-moulding, as it has black spots all over and all it takes is bleach. Breakfast experience spoiled by flies in the buffet room.
Nice hotel on the beach in a very family friendly location perfect for surfing learners. Rooms were large and staff were very friendly. We enjoyed our stay and will stay again in the future.
We had a wonderful stay at your hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is ideally situated directly on the beach with beautiful sea views. Pancakes at breakfast were the best.
Weligama Bay Resort has a lot going for it. The property is well-maintained, the rooms are clean, and the bathrooms are in good condition. However, one notable inconvenience for us as Indian travelers was the absence of water jet sprays in the bathrooms, which made things a bit difficult to manage. ? During our stay, the resort had very few guests, so there was no breakfast buffet. Instead, we were offered à la carte options. Unfortunately, the waiter seemed quite grumpy and reluctant to take our order, which left us feeling unwelcome. That said, the biggest highlight of this property is its unbeatable beachfront location. You simply walk down from the restaurant and you're on the beach – perfect for a relaxing meal with a stunning ocean view. The balconies also offer beautiful views of the shore, and the beach itself is clean and peaceful. Overall, a great location and nice property, but service and some amenities could be improved to enhance the experience.
