Had a lovely night away to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and thought I’d share my review to help others decide if it will suit them… Pros: Quiet bushland retreat in Mount Cotton - a nice drive from Brisbane suburbs, and feels a million miles away. Close to Victoria Point for dining/shopping if needed. Soft sided tent/cabin with deck, aircon, BIG bed with great pillows. Mini bar stocked with Sirromet wines. Front deck has beautiful bush views - tons of wallabies around all day/evening. Perfect spot for chatting, reading, writing - very peaceful with no interruptions. Huge double shower. Breakfast package included simple chia puddings, yoghurt, berries, muffins, cakes, and good coffee. Cons: a potentially busy, large commercial vineyard (it wasn’t busy on New Year’s Eve, but the restaurant was closed). They host concerts and weddings; if you attended one and wanted accommodation it would be great, but if not, it could be very busy/noisy. That big bed is HIGH. I’m 5’ tall and felt I needed a stool! It’s less spacious around the cabins/pavilions than the photos indicate; I felt too close to the neighbours when out on the deck. Our cabin, #5, had full sun first thing in the morning making at a hot and unpleasant area for tea/coffee (cabin #11 down the hill had full shade). No view of laguna. No swimming pool. No bath tub. No TV. No wifi (sounds like this has been an issue for some time; Sirromet needs to cease advertising free wifi on websites until they get it sorted out imo). We had no problems with reception/data with Optus. Breakfast package included the driest croissant I’ve ever met! Potential concerns: car parking about 50-100m or more from your cabin; possibly an issue for taking bags/cases to your room, for people with limited mobility etc. Around 8 stairs to the deck. If you rely on the wall to get around, you won’t appreciate the very flexible tent walls. We loved it and it was exactly what we needed/wanted. We did agree though that it would not appeal to people looking for a full service hotel. It would also not be very enjoyable if you didn’t like talking to your companion (or enjoy not talking) - I know my non-reading kids would have been bored. Fortunately, we didn’t take the kids, neither did we see any others during our stay! The rooms are definitely designed for couples, not families. We booked through au.trip.com who provided the best price.

The sanctuary is an amazing place to stay to live within nature with a clamping experience. From the moment you arrive you are transported into another world thats surrounded by friendly wallabies and a beautiful lake. Our stay came with a choice of breakfast included and it was great with a good selection available. The restaurant was also a good choice for dinner which we preceded with the cellar door tasting with Dan as our guide for the tasting. He was terrific and welcoming and had good knowledge of the wines. Within the sanctuary area there is also a self guided nature walk which we did after breakfast and it was amazing as shown by the photos. It included the wedding venue on the lake with the water lily's in flower. (Feb) We really enjoyed the stay.

Amazing place to stay, great vibe , staff are amazing and beautiful fine. We booked our room through a third party and had issues on book in where we didn’t actually have a reservation due to the third parties fault. Maryann was amazing and managed to find us a room after a last minute cancellation. All the staff are fantastic and we will definitely be back.

Lovely winery. They do not grow majority of wines on site, they make it there though. While they do cater for dietary requirements, I had to ask and tell them multiple times and was still brought food that was not allergy-friendly. I suggest confirming once again when your meal arrives. Mine was very obvious, they GF, DF and brought me yoghurt, cake and a croissant... but be careful. Rose was lovely, some of the wines are too complex to sip on and enjoy, but the tasting was a nice experience. Judging by the comments at the table, the selection could have been more simple wines to taste their versions or common styles.
