It was a long walk from Kyoto station with steep slopes, but if you are willing to pay 1,000 yen per baggage (which I think it's worth if you have big baggages because they do not let you take the bus with luggages), then it is relatively near by bus. Very nice place with a great atmosphere. The free lounge was also very comfortable with the massage chair and nice drinks + snacks. The rooms are comfortable and big with free sake for your bath every night. The service provided was great. Staff rushed outside the entrance to help with our luggage at night when they heard us coming in. Luggage was also carried up to our room for us. One of the staff also went an extra step to recommend us place to eat when we had trouble finding places that are open after 6:30pm. It's definitely worth the price and experience. I will come back again!
Fantastic place!!! The staff is very nice and formal. The rooms and facilities are amazing, and everything is very clean. The atmosphere is one of a kind, and it is probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Also there’s free ice-cream and coffee, so I’m a fan.
Excellent location. It’s walkable to the old Kyoto area. Highly recommend everyone to wake up early to go for a walk/jog around that area before the crowds come in. Service is amazing. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We had the breakfast and dinner inclusive for 2 days. The kids menu was amazing and the kids loved it. It’s just as nice as/ or better than the adults menu. We all enjoyed the food very much. Every meal is different and well prepared/ designed. The room is very spacious, clean and comfortable. We also had the private spa which is a nice experience for the family.
We had a wonderful stay at Saka Hotel Kyoto. The hotel staff are very polite. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel are very delicious. could avoid the crowds and walk around Kiyomizu Temple in the morning and evening.
This hotel is located in a really good area just behind Kiyomizu Dera. Near the busy area but just tucked inside within a 3 mins walk from the main street such that it's quiet and you don't hear the busy street traffic. The staff were extremely polite, friendly, professional and eager to help. The room cleaning hours are between 9am and 2pm. Make sure to be out of your rooms within that time frame otherwise your room wouldn't be cleaned! Each room has a deep sunken wood framed traditional bath and they provide a new bottle of sake everyday for the bath! Yes that was a new experience for me. The had to navigate a few steps when accessing the room from the elevator. And the room itself was split between 2 levels.
