113 Worcester Street, Christchurch Central City, Christchurch 8011, New Zealand
Excellent location and quite good rooms. What I didn’t really like about this place is that the entrance to the annex in which we stayed is from the street where the tram goes. The entrance is very narrow and it does not really feel very well guarded or safe. I was talking to a guy who lived there long term, and he was not very happy with the arrangement either. Apart from that there’s nothing wrong with the place and if you wanna stay really central, this is a good choice.
While the initial checkin area and hallways looked a bit sketchy and tight, this seems to just be the fact it's an old building. The room itself I stayed in was perfectly pleasant. It was clean and bed was comfortable. All the kitchen appliances were hidden behind a sliding door, room was well designed and everything was in a practical location. Air conditioning, is a large, noisy portable AC, not fitted to the wall, again probably due to this being an old building. Bathroom sink could've been a bit larger, was quite small and wasn't able to fit much around the sink itself Overall, not a bad room, great location and staff were lovely. I would consider staying here again. Just be aware you may hear sounds of the Christchurch Tram during the day as it is right next to the main ticket office and hop on/off area but it didn't bother me
This hotel was in a great location. Our room actually had a shared balcony overlooking the semi-enclosed shopping area around stop 1 of the Christchurch Tram. Going just downstairs gave us access to multiple restaurants and shops, and easy access to the tram. There was paid underground parking, although the spots were a little tight with incovenient pillars. Our room was giant and conveniently had a small washer/dryer unit in the room. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was very clean and staffs were very kind. I could use the laundry room on the ground floor. There was a microwave but no cooking heater in the room. Location was perfect if you like to go to the library. You can walk to the bus interchange and the Riverside market.
