We’ve stayed at the hostel for five days during Christmas. We felt really welcomed by all the staff. We stayed at one of the private rooms and it was really nice. The facilities are great, with a complete kitchen where you can cook if you like and with coffee, tea and some complimentary snacks available too. All the facilities and rooms are really well maintained and cleaned. Their attention to detail is really good. The location is good, there’s a 7-Eleven just across the street, and the night market and the beach at walking distance, approximately 15/20 minutes. And the best thing is Sundae, their sweet little dog that you can say hi to. If we knew that the hostel was so nice we would have stayed for a couple more days.
Me and my sister stayed here for only one night, however wish we could have stayed longer. We had the private twin room, which had a safe, ac unit and a balcony which was an unexpected surprise. Refrigerated water bottles in fridge was a nice touch as well. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and there was a cafe in the front of the hostel too! Hostel itself was very quiet and peaceful, however road had lots of loud traffic (however nothing earplugs couldn’t fix) I also imagine traffic was just due high season and festivals taking place.
Niece Hostel offers a mixed experience depending on the type of room you choose. The shared dorm rooms are well-equipped, with good amenities that make the stay comfortable. However, the air conditioning was too strong, which could be uncomfortable at night. On the other hand, the private rooms with large beds were not as satisfying. The mattress was extremely hard, and although they had air conditioning and an air purifier, the ventilation was insufficient, making the room feel a bit stuffy. The service is very friendly and attentive, which adds to the experience. Additionally, the hostel offers good facilities: a kitchen, bathrooms (though in some showers, the water pressure is very low, and they tend to get clogged), and small spaces to relax or work. Overall, it’s a good hostel with well-thought-out services, but the quality of the rooms varies significantly depending on your choice.
Surprisingly Spacious & Well-Maintained! This place is very clean and well-maintained, which was a great first impression. The front desk operator was super friendly and accommodating, making check-in smooth. I was genuinely surprised by the room size—expected it to be small, but it was quite spacious! The bathroom was clean, and basic toiletries were neatly arranged and provided, which was a nice touch. Location-wise, it’s very accessible, and there’s a 7-Eleven just a stone’s throw away, making it convenient for quick snacks or essentials. Overall, a solid stay with great value!
Staying at Niece Hostel was a breath of fresh air! Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Eve and her adorable Maltipoo - Sundae! The vibe of the hostel is wholesome, warm and homely. They kindly offer you so many different items to borrow such as beach mats, goggles and etc. It was very sweet to see they were offering complementary snacks as well as information to help you get around and see what to do. The hostel is very clean and has a nice common area with games. I also thought it was really good that there was a kitchen to use too. Not only was the hostel great, but the coffee shop dreamily, has some of the most delicious coffee I’ve ever tried. The whole place felt like a home away from home and I wish I had stayed longer!
