They struck a perfect balance between stylish flair and cozy functionality. From the outside, the building grabbed attention both day and night. The sleek facade was lit with warm accents in the evening, while its modern, clean look remained inviting during the day. The lobby was a vibrant yet laid-back space, with a playful design and communal seating that encouraged socializing or simply relaxing with a drink. The room was compact but cleverly arranged. The bed was large and plush, and the interior used warm tones and wooden textures that created a sense of calm. Storage options were practical, and there’s a cozy desk setup for work. The bathroom was clean and modern with a stylish black-and-white tile design, and the rain shower was a refreshing touch. The pink-themed amenities were a fun and quirky addition, fitting well with Moxy’s energy?

Great stay overall! The hotel has an excellent location—super convenient for exploring Kyoto. Everything was very clean, which made the stay feel comfortable and fresh. The room size is surprisingly good for both the price and typical standards in Japan—definitely a nice surprise. The gym is well-equipped and a great bonus for staying active while traveling. Also loved having access to 24/7 washing machines—such a practical and underrated perk. Breakfast could be better with just a few small additions or more variety, but it didn’t take away too much from the overall experience. For the value, cleanliness, location, and amenities, Moxy Kyoto is a solid choice. I’d definitely stay again!

This hotel was a true 3.5 star. Not sure if the hotel is short staffed or the staff don’t actually care about their guests, but the service levels left a lot to be desired. Especially after having just stayed at Aloft Tokyo Ginza - this felt sub-par. Hotel had a good location and good cleanliness, but as a Marriott platinum member - you expect a certain level of service & care but this hotel lacked on that front.

The rooms are quite small, but they’re very stylish, efficient, and well-designed. I'm giving them 4 stars only because of their size, but otherwise, I loved them. The service is generally great, but I couldn't check out with the Marriott Bonvoy app. Also, the bar is okay, but not great. I used Marriott points, so no breakfast. Not particularly Marriott Bonvoy members friendly. I had to shave off a star for that when it comes to service. The location is awesome, right next to Nijo Station, which connects you to pretty much the entire city if you don’t like walking around. It’s also only three stops away from Kyoto Station if you’re taking the Shinkansen like I did when moving between cities.

Chose this hotel due to its close proximity to Nijo station, it’s on-site free gym, and how clean and new it looked in pictures. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Nijo station, which also has several convenience stores and restaurant chains within it. This was a massive plus for us, as it allowed us to grab a quick bite and hop on a train with relative ease. The hotel property also had an on-site gym that was free to use. It was open 24 hours and had great quality equipment, which allowed me to complete quick workouts. Regarding the hotel room, our room was visibly clean and new, which made my stay here super comfortable. We were also provided with beneficial in-room amenities (shaving set, toothbrush set, combs), which saved us some money. Do note that free breakfast is not provided, and that the laundry machines do cost money. Overall, the hotel was a great experience that I would surely recommend to anyone. The convenient location, along with the super clean rooms and beneficial amenities, makes me want to book here again in the future. I would also recommend this location to anyone on the fence about it.
