I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with my boyfriend and it was perfect. The rooms are well equipped, the bed was comfortable enough. The tv stations were only in Japanese so I am glad we had our tablet. I mostly liked the breakfast and the onsen. I hesitated to go but I really enjoyed the onsen. There was no one around 3pm. The breakfast had some western options, but definitely a lot of sea food which is not my favorite. It is also the same every day so after 5 days I would have liked something different. Also, there are many restaurants nearby and they gave us a list of staff favourites that we tried. It was very helpful because it is sometimes hard to decide! We visited Nara from Kyoto and it was a short 1 hour metro ride. There is also a bus & metro station just a quick walk from the hotel. The design of the hotel is also very nice and traditional which we liked. I would recommend this hotel!

Great location, very friendly staff and lovely breakfast We were in the annex part of the property which was very clean and welcoming. The room itself was very clean and comfortable with a free multi charger that you could use in the room (unexpected but very helpful in our case). The breakfast was delicious with a wide choice that changed daily

A very nice hotel, really friendly staff and an easy walk to the main part of Kyoto in terms of restaurants and shops. You can walk to the main station in around thirty minutes. The room was comfortable, I didn’t use the public bath. I thought the sound-proofing in the room wasn’t brilliant compared to other hotels in Japan, I could hear next door opening curtains for example, and street-noise, but overall it was a good stay.

We enjoyed the hotel and our room. Staff were delightful and welcoming. The onsen bath was lovely. The location is good, very quiet. Every small detail is well thought through. Also there is a lovely fresh smell, and everything is so clean! Thank you!

We stayed at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo for 3 nights during our honeymoon, and it was a wonderful experience. The location is perfect, close to many attractions and easy to get around. The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable, with everything we needed. What stood out most was the incredibly kind and helpful staff, they made us feel so welcome and taken care of. Thank you for making our honeymoon in Kyoto even more special! Highly recommended!
