Great hotel at a superb location! The room was spacious with big beds and extremely clean. Very good service and staff. The beach is right across the road and the night market is just a few meters away. Really enjoyed our stay at Mera Mare.

A good hotel but not 5* in my view, the staff and service could not be faulted. From the room maid to reception to restaurant staff exemplary. The Room that we had was a nice size but hardly any clothes storage , drawers etc.  Maintenance was in my view poor. Silicone was poorly applied, black fungus in the grout. Shower tap had silicone badly applied.

Great location right on the beach.

Although we didn't use swimming pool looked good, and the gym useful.

Review: Mera Mare Pattaya – Disappointing Stay, Not Family-Friendly

We stayed at Mera Mare Pattaya during our family trip to Thailand, and unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations — especially for a family traveling with an infant.

❌ A Disappointing Start:
Due to sudden rains, our planned Coral Island tour was cancelled, and having already checked out from Courtyard by Marriott Pattaya at 7 AM, we returned to the city and decided to head straight to Mera Mare. We reached around 10 AM, hoping the hotel would be considerate given we were traveling with a baby and had nowhere else to go.

However, the front desk staff was shockingly rude and unaccommodating. The ladies at the counter showed clear attitude and lacked even basic courtesy or empathy. No early check-in was allowed (we were told to return at 3 PM), and no room upgrade request was entertained. The entire interaction was cold, inconsiderate, and frankly unpleasant.

?️ The Room:
The room itself was decent and clean, and a baby cot was provided, but that’s where the positives end.

No welcoming gestures — no welcome drink, no smiles, nothing that said "we care."

Room layout was impractical for families – no drawers, minimal storage, and a tiny wardrobe. Managing baby essentials was a real challenge.

? Not Family Friendly:
The hotel felt more like a "party place" than a family property — loud, unwelcoming, and zero warmth.

Housekeeping staff was also rude, and service lacked the attentiveness and hospitality you'd expect from any decent hotel.

The pool area was dead, dirty, and uninviting, not suitable for families or kids.

? Amenities & Experience:
The TV wasn’t smart, so we couldn’t stream YouTube cartoons for our baby — a consistent issue throughout Pattaya hotels.

Wi-Fi was good, but that’s one of the very few things that worked well.

The breakfast experience was awful — bland, limited variety, and worst of all, we weren’t even allowed to take a piece of fruit or pastry for our child. Highly disappointing and unfriendly.

? Money-Minded Environment:
The room had a prominently displayed rate list for everything: stain the linen – 1,000 Baht, lose a towel – 3,000 Baht, lose the remote – 5,000 Baht, and more. This created an anxious environment, especially as we were with a toddler who could unintentionally cause a mess.

A security deposit was taken, which added to our stress.

Only two water bottles were provided free, and additional ones were charged at 40 Baht each — unnecessarily strict for a 4-star property.

✅ The Only Positive:
The location is excellent, right on Pattaya Beach, which is convenient and scenic.

? Final Thoughts:
This hotel may work for solo travelers or party-goers, but it is not at all suitable for families. From the unfriendly front desk to the anxious, money-first atmosphere, it lacked the warmth and service expected of a hospitality business.

If we had returned to Courtyard by Marriott and requested our room back, we are certain they would have welcomed us with open arms — and that thought alone says everything about the contrast in service.

We sincerely hope the management at Mera Mare improves their approach and starts valuing guests beyond rigid rules and rate cards.

Not recommended for families, especially with young children.

Service was very poor. Room was ok. Staff was uncooperative. They did not allow my girl child for breakfast because of their misunderstanding.
Cleaning person has theft my mobile phone. All evidences are there but staff did not help us.
Breakfast was not so good. We stayed 4 days but not a single item of Indian food in breakfast on a single day.
Not recommended at all.
Not for Indians atleast.
