7 Rue de l'Hôtel Colbert, 75005 Paris, France
Our first time in Paris couldn’t have been more perfect. The service was impeccable, and everyone at the hotel spoke excellent English. We arrived just before noon after a long flight, and they were able to accommodate us early which gave us a chance to freshen up before heading out. The rooms are beautifully designed with individual artistic themes. They’re smaller based on North American standards, but definitely not as compact as rooms in Japan. We were asked if we wanted to upgrade but I preferred the one I chose with the partial view of the Notre Dame. Anyway, the room's charm and attention to detail more than made up for its size. If you prefer cozy, charming and quaint, you'd love it. Breakfast is top notch in their lovely cafe. Didn't have to go to a boulangerie to gouge on croissant and pain au chocolat. They're better than anything I've ever had back home in Toronto. And the location's unbeatable. A few steps outside, and you’re surrounded by cafés, brasseries, patisseries, shops for books, toys, souvenirs, Asian restos, and a whole lot more, all within a few minutes’ walk. We even got to buy mangas in French. Notre-Dame is just around the corner, you can even see it from the hotel and, in our case, from our room. Other spots like the Seine, Sainte-Chapelle, the Conciergerie, Shakespeare and Company, and the Louvre (stretch that walk a little) are all nearby. And if you want to venture farther, the train station is close, making it easy to get anywhere. Even Versailles is just literally one train ride away, no transfers needed. The little surprise they provided on our first night was the cherry on top of an already amazing experience. Honestly I can’t think of a single negative thing to say. Perhaps the weather? It rained when we arrived and they even had to say sorry for the weather as if it was their fault. We’d love to come back!
For a 5. Star hotel, the service is great, location amazing, right near notre dame but located on quiet street. They have a nice yard, where you can sit and have A coffee. Their restaurant is too dark and small. Bar and restaurant close at 8 pm. Try their tea time selection. Room: is so small! There was a curtain instead of a door to separate the bathroom from the room! The air conditioning does not cool down. No place to have your luggage! Service outstanding
I love it. Been here for 2 days and another 3 to go. My bed is comfortable and I have had a good night's sleep. The amenities, service and breakfast are excellent. The location is amazing: Notre Dame is just over the road. Panthéon a short walk and tomorrow I'll be walking along the river bank to musée D'Orsay, just 30 minutes à pied. There are many restaurants close by to choose from.
