I've stayed at the LIC at least 3-4 times, including during its first year, and did again May 5-7. The service is very good, allowed me to store luggage when my flight arrived before checkin. Wifi isvery efficient (and there are USB-b charging ports all over the place in the room - I didn't need to have brought extra plugs...there were at least 5 usb outlets in the lamp bases, just bring enough cords.), cleanliness was flawless, and quietness of the rooms (even in a very urban area) is amazing. Rooms are bigger than anything in Manhattan, (the windows actually open for fresh air, and the curtains block out light) and you get free bottled water. Proximity to the subway is a big bonus. Breakfast is good as well. LIC has been going through quite a revival, and this hotel is a great example of quality for the money.
This hotel is a convenient, more reasonably priced option to access midtown Manhatten. It is 15 to 20 minutes by subway to Radio City Music Hall. There are a few restaurants in the area that look worth trying. Breakfast is included with your stay. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. My stay was business related, but I would consider this place as a tourist, especially if this isn't your first time in NYC.
I was looking for affordable accommodation in New York, and since prices on Manhattan were extremely high, I chose this hotel — and I’m so glad I did! It’s just a 2-minute walk to the subway, and only 10 minutes by train to Manhattan. The best part is that you get to come back to peace and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle, while enjoying a clean and comfortable environment. Huge thanks to the staff for offering us a free early check-in — it made such a difference after a long journey. The breakfast was delicious and filling, the rooms were spotless, and the view from our window was stunning. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New York!
Had a great comfortable stay here at LIC Hotel during a short visit to NYC. The hotel looks a bit dated and not the most modern, where the room is fairly basic and no-frills. But it has all the essentials, is a reasonable size (given we're near NYC), and overall quite clean. I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. It was fairly simple but had all the basic staples as well as hot options varying slightly day to day (scrambled eggs, tater tots, bacon/sausages, pancakes/French toast). There's free coffee, tea, filtered water and bagels available 24hrs. Location wise, I had some apprehension not being familiar with LIC. The area immediately around the hotel is not the most vibrant/nice looking, but overall felt safe. It's a 5 mins walk from the subway station, which will get you into Manhattan within 15 mins. And also not too far of a walk from the East River/Gantry Park, which has a great view of the Manhattan skyline. For parking, I was able to find free overnight street parking on 44th Ave. Otherwise, the hotel also has a small paid parking lot available. Overall, given the affordability, value and convenience, I would highly recommend this hotel!
