This place has been our mainstay for south Indian food in NYC over the years. After a hiatus of several years due to the pandemic, we revisited A2B for indoor dining and greatly enjoyed ourselves. The idli vada combo, the Rasam, and the butter masala Dosa were excellent as always. The Rava Masala dosa felt a tad chewy (not as crisp as I remembered) but overall, we were very pleased with the experience. The Gulab Jamun was a nice way to round out the meal. This place is worth a visit if you're craving South Indian food in NYC! Update: Went back for more great food! The experience was great, even though they had issues with sending the food to the wrong tables, which led to longer than expected wait times. Hope they resolve this quickly! We had the Rocket Dosa, the Bullet Dosa (dosa with Pav Bhaji Masala inside it), and the South Indian Thali. All were excellent!
Constant innovation on the menu! Consistent taste and service!
A true gem for authentic South Indian cuisine in Manhattan! I've been coming to Adyar Ananda Bhavan for years and they never disappoint. Their menu showcases constant innovation while maintaining the authentic flavors that keep regulars coming back.
