Overall a positive stay, the rooms are larger than average, and the location makes it easy to reach any other part of Kyoto. My only issue was with the laundry facilities. There are only four laundry machines for the entire hotel, which leads to long waits. Also, the built-in dryer setting on the machines is very weak; my clothes were still damp after two full cycles (1h of drying.) I recommend going to whichever nearby laundromat you prefer, where you'll get a better wash and an actual dryer for the same price.

This was by far the best place we stayed on our two week trip in Japan. The room was spacious and modern. The amenities were great and you can just grab what you like from the lobby. You get a free alcoholic drink each night and there is also a coffee machine you can use at any time. If you are with a group it’s good cos there are tables and chairs downstairs if you want to sit and chill before going up to your room

The location is unbeatable especially for some Of us are senior travelers who prefer as little walking as possible. The Economy Twin Room is spacious for two. Our big luggage can be laid open in the room. We were assigned a room facing Shijo. We heard the traffic from the street but it wasn’t bad at all. Having a nice city view made up for it. The breakfast buffet can be purchase on the same day and it offers both western and Japanese style options. Every evening guests can go to the front desk to get a token that is used on the sake machine in the lobby. Free sake for everyone. To get to the rooms, guests need to first take the elevator/escalator down to B1 and from there switch to a different elevator to go up to the rooms.

This is prime real estate if you're in Kyoto for shopping and dining. The distance to the Gion district is easily walkable. But more importantly is the staff. The entire staff is amazing. From the front desk to the janitorial team. Each staff member was kind and attentive. The rooms are well laid out and very clean. My favorite part was their blackout curtains. It helped adjusting to the time zone. The coffee was great and all of their free amenities smelled fantastic. You have to try the berry bath powder. They do offer a breakfast however I did not try it. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Kyoto. I would definitely use this hotel chain all over Japan as well.

We spent five wonderful days in Kyoto in early June and chose Hotel Forza Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi for its unbeatable location—and it did not disappoint! Nestled in the heart of a vibrant neighborhood, the hotel is steps away from Nishiki Market and surrounded by endless shopping streets. Yet, despite the lively surroundings, our room was peaceful and quiet, offering the perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The hotel itself has so many thoughtful touches. The lobby, located one level down, provides direct access to the subway, making transportation a breeze. We also loved the full breakfast and relaxing lounge area, but the real standout was the beverage machine with Tsujiri Matcha Latte-so delicious that guests lined up for it (pro tip: grab it early before it runs out!). Our room was spacious by Japanese standards, and the shower was incredibly comfortable, which was a welcome luxury. We also appreciated the two complimentary bottled waters daily (just ask the friendly lobby staff if you need them in advance). Hotel Forza truly elevated our Kyoto experience, blending convenience, comfort, and excellent service. We’d highly recommend staying here—you won’t regret it! ;)
