32 City Garden Rd, North Point, Hong Kong
I just woke up in my own bed. For the last 2 weeks, we called Hotel Alexandra home in Hong Kong. The room was quite spacious (for HK), our bathroom had an excellent shower with amazing water pressure (which I missed a lot last night when I got home). The ever-present staff were always ready to greet you and help if necessary. The hotel itself is gorgeous and relatively quiet. The subway system is available by using an overpass footbridge, less than 5 minutes away (buses and tram available here as well). Within 1 km you have many food spots, including a Michelin guide favorite Sister Wah. Snowy Savory has the best mochi! There are 7-11's close by, many tea cafe restaurants where you can have a fast inexpensive breakfast. It's actually situated in a very advantageous spot: as someone who's goal was to explore every corner of Hong Kong - this metro stop gave you quick access to the other metro lines if you needed to transfer. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and the AC was strong (which you need in HK). There's several laundry spots close by. Relatively speaking again, the overnight price at this hotel was reasonably priced at just under $1K HKD, or about $200 CAD. The breakfast options at this hotel were ok, unfortunately we didn't have any other meals here. I will likely book this hotel again the next time I decide to visit HK.
Warmly welcomed and a smoothie and efficient check-in at this nicely located hotel. The entrance and lobby area hallways are all very grand looking with far more chandeliers than are probably necessary for function but looks great. My room was a standard room and it was reasonably sized for a HK room with a very comfortable bed, small seating area, table and unit that included a microwave (they offer 30+ day stay offers which looks like really good pricing). The bathroom is small but the use of mirrors make it feel larger and the shower is ample and spacious. The pool is nice for getting a few lengths in although in the evenings tended to have people lounging in it so harder to swim. The gym is small but reasonably equipped with various treadmills, cycles, free weights and other machines. They provide towels and water too. I didn't eat here but the smell from the dining room as I arrived and left was mouth watering. I think this is one of the best value hotels bearing in mind the quality and location. I would definitely stay again. My only gripe is the TV channel list didn't appear to match the channels being shown!
This is a way overdue review, but I have to come back to leave them with a positive review, which they well deserve. The Hotel Alexandra provides an experience where the staff's service exceeds its four stars rating, the level of hospitality we received was five stars. Beyond the receptionists (they were alright), every other staff member we encountered, including those in car park management, security, the restaurant, facilities and room service, was not only friendly but demonstrated a genuine commitment to guest comfort. They consistently accommodated our needs, creating a wonderfully welcoming environment that makes you feel like this is home. Adding to the fantastic service is the great location, the hotel is convenient to all major public transport, with easy access to the M.T.R., trams, buses, ferries, and taxis of course. This accessibility makes exploring the city a breeze, it's highly recommended for a memorable stay.
I really like this hotel as it is very close to the Fortress Hill MTR station. Even under the heavy rain, I was sheltered by the predestrian bridge from the station to the hotel. As it is in a residential area, I was able to find good quality and inexpensive restaurants nearby. Of couerse, there was a nice restaurant in the hotel as well. In terms of the room and services, they are good enough.
