The Hikkaduwa River Cottage is a perfect place to stay if you want an authentic Sri Lankan experience while being close to the river and beach. Located just outside of Hikkaduwa it is a perfect place for couples and travellers that want to get away from the busy town and enjoy waking op to the sounds of birds chirping and the river flowing. The garden surrounding the room is lush and green, surrounded by coconuts and banana trees. The staff is extremely friendly and will go out of their way to help you in any way possible. Scooters and kayaks are easily rented and it is a perfect place to explore the surrounding area. Kitchen is fully equipped, rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious. The privacy is great as well. I would highly recommend this place to stay. My partner and I stayed here for 3 months during the COVID-19 outbreak and found ourselves 'stuck' in paradise. Couldn't have dreamed of a better place to be quarantined.
