It’s hard to find a better deal than this hotel if you want to be in the center of everything while having privacy. The fact that you’re in the center of Chinatown yet when you’re inside it’s like you’re somewhere private and quiet is really nice. Rooms are extremely clean and very spacious. Restaurant and breakfast probably the best I’ve seen. The pool is also really nice, but a bit small for the amount of guests at times. The view to Merdeka 118 is breathtaking. Will definitely stay again if visiting KL!
Needed a staycation after hectic weeks. The location is very strategic, there are many places to explore within walking distance if you don't mind the hot humid tropical weather. The MRT station is also 5 min walk away. The room, nothing to shout about. Clean and bright, water pressure was good but no rain shower. Wifi was good strength in the room. The bed was much softer than other Marriott brands, not my liking but thank God I didn't get sore back after 4d3n. Pillows were good though. The sound proof was good, corridor noise was dampened and traffic noise was not heard from the glass. The reception lobby is at level 7. Likewise the pool and gym. The small pool has a great view to Merdeka tower. The parking lot is spacious, supposedly RM5 daily but I was charged RM77 for a 4d3n upon exit. Unsure if the front desk validated my card correctly. It would be better if they use car plate recognition system to avoid such.
The best part about this hotel is its location. Situated right smack next to Chinatown, eateries and bars greet you as soon as you step out of the hotel. Amazing location aside, the hotel was otherwise decent. Not bad but also nothing to shout about. Rooms were clean and relatively spacious but did seem abit dated, while the bathroom was abit too small for my liking. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Wanted to go for a swim but the pool area didn't feel inviting so opted for the fitness centre instead which had a functional trainer machine, dumbbells, several bikes and treadmills. More than sufficient for a good workout. Had the Peranakan Hi-tea set at Lady Yi's Teahouse and it was a nice experience overall. While I did not patronize Jann's Bar, I felt that the atmosphere was perfect for an evening wind down; the bar looked amazing aesthetically with a good view of the Petronas Twin Towers. Will definitely pay them a visit the next time around. A few things which aren't major issues in itself but given the highly competitive hotel landscape, stood out like a sore thumb. The lack of a soft close toilet cover, the absence of a rain shower and the fact that free parking isn't included. While the rate of RM5 per day (unfortunately, I paid RM10 despite my card being validated which I attribute to human error) is very much small change, one would wonder why this isn't subsidized fully by the hotel. For an extremely small cost, the overall customer experience would be so much better. All in all, a decent stay (for RM285 without breakfast) but short of being 5 stars for the reasons stated above.
Amazing hotel. Room service on level 17 was amazing too. Good breakfast choices. Clean overall. My only gripe is that the lobby is ground floor but the front desk is level 7. And the lifts too slow and too few. Cannot handle crowd. Other than that okay. I still.give 5 stars.
