This hotel was very convenient. The train station was 1 minute walk away. The people at the front desk were really kind and helpful even though there was a language barrier. The check in process was really easy, they have a lot of amenities like razors, combs, body sponges, etc. Also, they give you a calendar where they let you know the days they’re going to enter the room to clean or change towels. The room they gave me was very clean. The bed was a bit hard for my liking but my friends loved it. There’s a lot of different convenience stores nearby and also a pharmacy. I actually enjoyed my stay there and would recommend it.

Cypress Inn Tokyo is one of the best hotel stays I've experienced when visiting Japan as a traveler. If you're looking for a hotel that is high quality for an incredible price, look no further. This hotel is just a few minute walk from Shin-Koiwa Station, and the surrounding buildings are mostly restaurants and shops selling local and chain food/drink/entertainment. I was genuinely thrilled to realize how much there was to explore in the area, and even better, there's a Lawson's convenience store directly facing the hotel for any late-night needs. As far as I'm aware, there was no breakfast available and the lobby was quite small, seemingly only built for efficiency and functionality. However, I didn't grab breakfast with my hotel during any of my other hotel stays elsewhere, so that didn't matter to me at all. The hotel staff are more than willing to take your bags to your room for you prior to check-in, and when you decide to leave the hotel, they'll hold onto your extra luggage until you're ready to depart to your next location. The rooms were tidy and compact. Mine had a sink, fridge, freezer, water heater (for tea/coffee/instant food), closet, bath/shower combo with yet another sink, toilet, and the bed was comfortable. There were coin washer/driers located on 3 different floors of the hotel as well. The window in the room actually opens which is nice, unlike some other hotels I've stayed at. I just can't reiterate enough; this hotel was by far the best experience giving high quality amenities and an extremely fun location with hours of potential for exploring and trying different foods, and it was just a short train-ride to central Tokyo if you wanted to pop into Akihabara or ride up to Ueno for the day. The staff member that checked us in was very friendly, I appreciate that they had someone at the front desk at 10pm. We did not see any other staff during our stay we also were not in need of anything. The room was very small, but that was to be expected. We stayed for three nights, we appreciated that they provided us each with a fresh towel for each night at the start of our stay. The hotel itself was not very centrally located, but a very short walk to a train station. I found the shower somewhat difficult to use. The temperature controls were also the sink controls, and it was tricky to get the right temperature for any task honestly. The pillows did not offer much neck support.

Fantastic little hotel about a 1 minute walk from Shin-Koiwa station. Shin-Koiwa has great transportation options. JR Chuo Sobu line will take you to Akihabara in 20 minutes and Shinjuku in 35 minutes. JR Sobu rapid will take you to or from Narita airport in about an hour and Tokyo station in about 15 minutes. The hotel itself is a basic (clean) business hotel with small rooms. Mine did come with an electric stove, kitchen style sink, microwave and a pretty large refrigerator. Pans are available for rental if you wanted to cook something. Staff is friendly, helpful and speaks some basic English, but please be courteous and learn some Japanese (this is Japan, after all).
