Cross Hotel Kyoto is in a convenient location few minutes walk to the Sanjo train station and also the bus stand. Right in the centre of the busy shopping district and close to Nishiki market. The rooms are clean with great amenities. The seperate toilet and shower facilities were convenient with great shower pressure and hot water. The breakfast was varied with a good spread of continental and Asian dishes. The lobby was spacious with lots of seating and you could avail of tea/coffee through the day. Service was courteous and attentive. Would definitely stay again on our next visit This hotel ticks all the boxes

We loved this hotel, rooms and beds are big for Japan (not by western standards) but we loved having a king bed. Rooms were clean and modern with coffee machines downstairs. Reception was helpful when we had questions about our trip to Nara. One thing to note is whilst its very close to many bus stops it’s not too close to a tube and quite far from Kyoto main station so if you have many days trips it might be better to stay closer to the main station. Great for walking around though by the river and loads of great restaurants on the door step.

We had a fantastic stay at Cross Hotel Kyoto. The staff were kind, helpful, and professional, and we felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. We were honestly positively surprised by the room — it was much more spacious than expected, beautifully designed, and very clean. The location is excellent, just steps away from Gion and many great restaurants and shops, yet the hotel itself feels calm and relaxing. This was one of the best hotels we stayed in during our Japan trip. Highly recommended — we would gladly come back!

This was the best hotel we stayed in Japan. Spacious rooms and central to all the activities. Walking distance to sanjo Station, which is great for early morning hopping to shrines and temples. Everything about this stay was smooth (from the electronic check-in/checkout) to the concierge requests for information. We would definitely stay here again if we're back in Kyoto.

The hotel has a great location and is only 5 minutes from a subway station. The check in process is cumbersome. There are kiosks that can look up the reservation and check you in. I entered my name and nothing. I found my reservation number on my phone and that still did not work. Eventually a hotel person had to assist. I stayed here 2 years ago and it was a similar situation. I had 2 rooms booked this time-a room for my husband and I and a room for my 3 teens/early 20s children. The rooms were great. My children had a corner room and there was a bed for each of them. Beds are comfortable, as are the pillows. We opted for the breakfast buffet each morning and loved the variety. My only criticism is the coffee machines. There are 2 and one would become out of service every morning. It took awhile to wait since it makes each cup individually and the area gets very congested with people waiting. I am more than happy with plain black coffee in the morning. I wish there was another machine filled with coffee that allowed quick cups to be filled.
