My husband and I just had the most amazing 3 night stay there. It is the perfect location , perched high in the forest with great views over the beaches. Service was next level , everyone was so kind and helpful from suggesting a great tour operator to the prompt collection from our room when we needed a lift. Food was superb ? ? . Our room right at the very top was super spacious, well appointed and we loved the welcome surprise. It's the little things you remember. The views are exceptional ?. Worth 5/5 stars ?

Very beautiful hotel, lovely staff and great rooms! Comfy beds, awesome view, they provide plenty of bug spray: I was very happy with this hotel. I would only feedback the following very small areas: 1. The pool dyed my blonde highlights green. Do not put bleached hair under the water in this pool, unless you want green hair. 2. As a hotel guest, you cannot get a coffee with normal milk served in the pool area. I understand it is a vegan restaurant, but it would be nice if the cafe portion could offer dairy milk coffee for guests. Very small things! Loved staying here

Just finished our second visit to Ambong, Langkawi, was again superb. The friendly staff, 1st class meals and service are above and beyond expectations. A hidden rainforest sanctuary that blends luxury, warmth, and wild serenity Our recent stay at Ambong Rainforest Retreat was nothing short of magical. Nestled deep within the lush greenery of Langkawi’s hillside, the resort felt like a secret hideaway—quiet, deeply immersive, and beautifully cared for in every way. We stayed in a spacious two-bedroom villa, surrounded by nothing but rainforest. One room had a large double bed, the other twin beds—both were impeccably clean, cool, and extremely comfortable. The living space was generous, with a small kitchen area and a wide balcony that opened out into nature. We would often sit there just to listen—to the playful monkeys rustling in the trees, to the crickets serenading the dusk, and to the peaceful rhythm of the forest. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional hospitality. Every staff member greeted us with a smile, but a heartfelt thank you must go to Lee, who seemed to appear like magic whenever we needed help getting around the resort. Always gracious, always kind. And to Prem, who welcomed us each morning at the Rimba Restaurant and helped us plan our days with thoughtful suggestions, even arranging water activities for our son. The breakfasts were a joy—served in the most tranquil of settings at Rimba, overlooking the treetops. There was always a spread of fresh fruit and a choice of breakfast sets, each one delicious. One morning, we tried the vegan restaurant’s breakfast as well, and it was equally delightful. The young team serving us each day did so with quiet care and thoughtfulness. Even though the resort is set on a steep hill, the seamless buggy service made getting around easy. We also had access to the Japanese and vegan restaurants and the rooftop area at Ambong Pool Villas—all within the property, all just a short call away. Every part of this stay felt curated with love. The soft rustling of the leaves, the clean comfort of the villa, the generosity of the staff—it all came together into something special. Ambong doesn’t just offer a rainforest retreat. It offers an experience of peace, of connection, and of being truly looked after. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Fantastic forest experience close to the beach and city. Something completely different to the large hotel chains. Apartments are situated against hill, hence quite a bit of climbing every day and monkeys everywhere.
