Jalan Pantai Cenang, Pantai Cenang, 07000 Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia
Very great museum. It was so informative and pretty!! Good photo spots also ? If you visit Pantai Cenang, you should visit here too. Oh, and it's free!
Visited here with friends and their children and we had a fantastic time. I highly recommend doing one of their packages if you have children (great value). The staff showed us around the museum and then we got our feet in the fields and carried out the whole rice process - the kids loved it! In fact we all did. We then learnt some traditional games. All of the staff were exceptional. Super friendly, informative and great with the kids (8 and 11). Highly recommend!
Oh I love this place. My sanctuary from busy Cenang..sitting under the pondok nipah overlooking the rice field. I can stay here forever. The museum is also wonderfully presented and showcases the ingenuity and kampong (village) spirit of the people. You can feel that rice farming is something sacred to the locals and the local birds. Conscious rice farming provides for humans and the ecosystem. Entry is graciously free but they do have demos available for booking and you are able to leave a tip. Highly recommend to sit under the awnings and reflect on the history of rice farming.
We stopped in here and did one of the activity packages they have on offer. We did a detailed guided tour of the rice museum, a detailed tour of the herb garden with tasting, skinning and grating a coconut and planting and cultivating rice in the field. For 2 adults and a child it was 55RM which is great value. Our guides were extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. It was an excellent couple of hours.
Interesting museum on rice farming. Both the rice paddies ourside and the wonderfully airconditioned museum are worth a visit. The entrance is free.
