Good hotel in Riccarton, stunning rooms with amazing room service in the mornings. No breakfast provided but we travelled into the city each morning. Comfortable nights sleep and relaxing showers after a long day. Our room had a kitchenette which was handy and a private balcony for some fresh air. We did have a small situation which was resolved by staff. Location is a tiny bit dodgy and run down. Overall great stay and fitted our needs at a reasonable cost.

It clearly stated in room booklet that help with luggage is there..i asked man at receptionfor help..he simplyrefused.lift was broken and I am staying over a week...I had to carry all my luggage upstairs on my own after 6 hour drive...and the underground carpark is nothing but a pokie dungeon stinks of cigarettes
But was welcome to a comfortable room
One last thing I might add is im not staying for business or leisure..my partner is in burwood hospital after months of rehabilitation I'm staying here as it's closest to the Granada Centre which he is transferred to for me to support him. Very disappointed with services at front desk. Do better.

Clean and Comfortable but Wouldn’t Stay Again

The hotel was clean enough, and the room was fine for the price, though the bed was pretty uncomfortable. However, I rated this hotel low due to a frustrating experience during our stay.

I was traveling with my husband, who was attending an event and would be returning late at night. I’m pregnant, and the hotel would only provide us with one key—something I’ve never encountered before. This meant that when my husband got back, he had to call me, wake me up, and I had to go down to reception to let him in. It completely disrupted my sleep throughout the trip.

The reception staff were really unhelpful and just said they couldn’t do anything about it. After reading other reviews, it seems I’m not the only one who found the staff unhelpful. If you need more than one key or want reception staff who are willing to assist, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The service at this hotel is terrible. One of our employee named Obaid booked a reservation here however the hotel was found closed upon his arrival on 19th Feb 2025 and still charged 242 NZD to his credit card. Our agency tried multiple attempts to reach out to hotel to ask them to remove the credit card charge but they declined it. Our employee need to look for other hotel urgently due to this issue.
Based on this experience, we blocked the hotel for future booking from other employees when travelling to Christchurch.
If you don't want to face this inconvenient situation, do not book here.

Worst reception, won't talk to solve thing out. Doesn't care about losing customer. End up cancel the room and will never visit again.
