467 Mikagecho, Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, 600-8447, Japan
I stayed for four nights and found the location excellent. It was easy to go anywhere, yet still quiet at night. And the room was big and comfortable. However, the Wi-Fi connection was poor, and we could not connect. I must commend the staff for their great service and problem-solving skills. They offered to change our room to resolve the issue, although we ultimately decided not to switch.
The check in was fast with staff assistance. Room is ideal for 3. Courtesy towels, coffee and tea on each floor great idea. Unfortunately, room clean after 3 days was patchy.
Large rooms (very big for Japan and super new and modern). Quiet location. Perfect spot between the station, Nijo Palace and Gion (all 20-30 mins walk). Lovely neighbourhood. Staff are lovely too (onside 2pm-11pm). Would happily stay here again. NO breakfast option but great coffee (cafe Celeste) just around the corner and great breakfast at ninuki Kyoto (amazing Tamago egg sandwiches!!) also just a round the corner. Other places offers breakfast but very small options.
Lovely hotel with a hint of luxury! Easy self-check in when the desk isn’t manned and we really liked having a code to access our room rather than a key. Plenty of amenities available and a quick walk to the nearest train station. Only down side was the TV only had free-to-air Japanese stations available - no access to a smart TV.
