A small Malay Indian fusion shop, best described as a comfort meal on a rainy day. Location is surrounded by tall buildings so, it might be hard to find. But at a fairly nice location Curry differs from Indian in a way that they I tasted a strong aroma of lemongrass. It was wonderful. I could taste rich taste in both dal and curry, along with flavorful basmati rice. They have a lacto vegetarian option too They have tall steel glasses for water unlike other restaurants which provide tiny paper glasses. Prices are set reasonable compared to the location I wish they had some more options for vegetarians and new items on menu
One of the best place to experience Malaysia’s Penang food called “Nasi Kandar”, which strongly influenced by Malaysian Indian culture. Nasi kandar is a popular northern Malaysian dish from Penang, originally introduced by Tamil Muslim traders from India. The meal consists of steamed rice combined with an array of distinct curries, sides dishes, and gravies. The selection of curries consists of various blends of vegetables, seafood or meat.
It’s a Malaysian restaurant that you rarely find on Japan. Its more like a food stand style than the proper restaurant and it’s not cheap but I like the tastes! The smell of spices and herbs really makes me reminds of a street market in south East Asia. Stuff there was kind and helpful when I wasn’t sure what to order. Make sure you don’t comes here too late since they usually run out of food in the early evening.
Visited this restaurant for lunch at golden week. It’s not crowded, and they have a lot of seats inside and at the outside of the restaurant. I tried their Yumemaru Special Recommend, which are 2 types of curry, 3 types of side dish, boiled egg, etc. You can choose the volume of your rice, and types of curry yourself. It was so voluminous and delicious! On top of that, this restaurant serve halal food, so muslim can enjoy the meal without worry.
If you're expecting really spicy curry like the nasi kandars back in Malaysia you'll probably be disappointed (or maybe we just came on a day the menu was less spicy), but other than that flavour was great. The service was good as well and there were lots of seats indoors and outdoors. We tried both the recommended menu and the custom menu, we ended up liking the recommended one more. So if you do not know what to order, you can just start with the recommended one. They only take paypay and cash.
