It was hard to find good vegan/ vegetarian restaurant in Melbourne CBD but we were lucky to find Vegie Tribe by chance. We came very early, when the shop was just opened in the morning. Basically, the restaurant offers you 2 choices to enjoy your meal, all you can eat or pay by weight. You pay $28 for all-you-can-eat and $1 per 25g with a minimum of 200g. They have varieties of dishes on their display and you choose what you want to eat. It's really a nice place and the menu changes daily. Will definitely come back next time to try other dishes here.
Only reason it wasn't a 5 star is because the signage stated a wider range of cuisine than was actually available. The food was delicious and they have a wide selection of food available. The staff were lovely and welcoming. My carnivore boyfriend enjoyed all the food as well. They have a cute cafeteria style self serve bar. We had fun pretending we were in prison because of the metal trays and serving style of food. They had condiments and water available for self service and easy access. Clean bathrooms. Welcoming and relaxing vibe also. I don't live in the area otherwise I would definitely visit again ❤️
We had such a lovely dinner here with friends. The restaurant is warm and welcoming and the staff were so friendly and attentive. I was impressed by the amount of dishes we had to choose from in the buffet and I loved everything that I put in my plate. The vegan fried chicken and the butter chicken were my stand out favourites. We also shared a jug of sangria which I really enjoyed. Overall, a great spot for a casual dinner with friends or lunch!
Great place. Visiting from another state. Googled what's vegan around. Found this place. People working were very nice and helpful. I found lot's of gluten free options for myself. I loved the potato salad and Vanilla custard cup. Freshly made juice was very yummy. I left very full. Unless you haven't had any food all day, I recommend getting a single plate instead of all you can eat. I eat lots and it was a good filling plate for myself. The place also smells very yum. All the spices in the air. I recommend coming with friends to check out this place. They also have gluten free sweets. The whole place is vegan.
Im in Melbourne for the night and after some reaserch I found Vegie Tribe and decided that's where dinner was to be tonight. I have extreme dairy allergies so I tend to eat a lot of Vegan food and tonight I had THE BEST Vegan food experience I have ever had anywhere in the world. I had so many options to choose from and everything was absolutely delicious. The Cauliflower Manchurian and the Lasanga were real standouts for me, as well as the Burnt Caramel Ice Cream. Service was absolutely impeccable with kind and attentive staff. I was happy to see even on a Tuesday night they had a huge group booking as well. The atmosphere was really welcoming and even though I was dining by myself I felt relaxed and really enjoyed myself. This wonderful resturant is somewhere that even staunch meat eaters would enjoy!
