What an amazing experience! This is a tiny Izakaya with seven seats only. It is a cozy, comfortable, welcoming space. We had the soy meat skewers and dumplings and both were amazing. One of our best meals in Japan. The atmosphere makes it special too!

I was lucky to have both the set lunch and dinner menus here. I stood in line for about twenty minutes for lunch but was lucky to get in the first batch of seven for dinner. The aged miso is incredible. The hotpot was great. Some of the set menu lacks flavor or is a bit oily but overall, it is a great experience to have vegetarian food that approximates typical Japanese cuisine.

The food and the chef were absolutely amazing! I chose the chef's recommanded large set. The tofu and yuba skin were delicious, the yakitori and yakiniku were full of flavors, texture was amazing. The gyozas, set of 5 homemade dishes, and the miso sauce rice ball were all so amazing. I especially love the rice, the braised eggplant, and braised dried radish. Desserts were perfect ! Highly recommend! The seats are limited to 7 at a time, so be prepared to wait in line. However, the experience is absolutely worth it!

I went over a week ago and I've been thinking about it every day. I waited over an hour and a half in line, but people coming out told me it was worth the wait. It was an experience more than just food- each course brought more tastes and joy. My favorites were the osuimono soup, the dumplings and the braised rice ball. I added tangerine plum wine to the meal and it was perfectly sweet and tasted better than a mimosa! I would recommend it to anyone in Kyoto at the right time! (probably not right before closing with the wait)

Truly such a special experience to dine here. Our server told us the farm has been in the owners family for something like 400 years ?? The space is so sweet and intimate and the food is fresh, gorgeous, and delicious. My favorite thing we tried was the sesame miso which is aged for three years. We all bought a jar to take home with us !
