Restaurant was spacious with view of the Marina Bay and staff were attentive. Soups and scallops were ok, while burgers were better. Fish and chips and Halibut were surprisingly good. Durian cake was delicious and the date pudding was great too. Staff were sweet to give us complimentary cakes. Overall a pleasant dining experience with great fish and dessert but quite costly.

Came by around 12 for a booking we had, my party was running late so I wanted to sit first. Seems like they were quite understaffed cause one person was managing a table at the corner and another was getting drinks done. Stood at the counter for a couple mins bfr I was attended to after flagging down one of them - not a great start. That aside, service was pleasant for the rest of the meal. The day we were there the fishes were not available which was a huge let down since a few of us wanted to get fish. I was looking forward to trying the halibut :( Ended up going for the smoke duck chilli padi. The utensils are abit hard to use with the linguini but overall dish was very interesting! Interesting combination that I have not had elsewhere. Got the cakes after, tried the chocolate ovomaltine which was nice. They gave a classic ondeh cake for free! After paying they also gave us another cake to take home. All in all the bill came up to ~$550 for 8 of us. Priced at a premium but expected it from the moment I walked in. Good for a business meal.

Had a wonderful dining experience at The Malayan Council! The smoked duck was absolutely delicious, tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. What made the night even more special was the lovely staffs who surprised me by singing a birthday song. It was such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture that made my day extra memorable. Great food, warm service, and a cozy ambiance, highly recommend!

My younger cousins decided on Malayan Council Esplanade after pondering many other places of eateries to celebrate the homecoming visit , one of our sis from Manchester. Our reserved table for 6 were beside the window with the splendid view of Marina Bay Sands. Ordered our food and were pleased with all of them. The crew were friendly and tried their best to serve everyone fast. And as there are 2 May Birthday Cousins, we were presented with 2 slice of cakes ,candles and birthday song. Surprise!
