Great service, amazing food. The only minor fault was that the veggie wellington is cold in the middle. Besides this, the meal was incredible, as well as the service. I am having the meal alone, and the floor manager has taken care of me, making me feel welcome and comfortable to enjoy my dinner here. I will definitely go back.
We've been to a few of their branches, and this was another great one. Their whole menu now seems to be vegan/plant-based, and we had so many choices! We all went for the mushroom dauphinoise, which was absolutely delicious. We also had a couple of the vegetable sides, which were similarly good. Speedy and friendly service. Would definitely recommend
Just had the most delicious lunch at The Gate Hammersmith today. My partner and I visited for the first time and absolutely loved it. We genuinely loved every single one of the dishes we tried: Crispy Courgette Flower (maybe my favourite but it had so much competition!) Chunky Polenta Chips (the dip accompanying these was insane too) Potato Rotolo was delicate and delicious Aubergine Schnitzel — so many flavours working together perfectly Brownie with vanilla ice ream - perfect finish. Every dish is made with care and love and it truly shows. All is beautifully presented and tastes as good as it looks. The owner Michael looked after us so kindly, and we loved the atmosphere and decor of the place. A hidden gem — can’t wait to visit again!
We had a lovely meal here. The restaurant is nice and airy and the food was interesting and tasty, with lots of gluten-free options. The staff were also friendly and professional. Very highly recommended.
The Gate in Hammersmith is a hidden gem that truly delivers on every front. A fully vegetarian restaurant, it offers expertly cooked, beautifully presented dishes at surprisingly reasonable prices. The space itself is stunning. Housed in a converted art studio, the restaurant has a light, airy feel thanks to its large windows and minimalist yet warm decor. The atmosphere is relaxed but refined, making it perfect for both casual meals and special occasions. Our server was outstanding, almost single-handedly running front of house with charm, efficiency, and attentiveness and he really elevated the whole experience. It’s worth noting that the entrance can be a bit tricky to spot: you’ll need to head through a small gate into a courtyard, then up a set of stairs. Once inside, you’re immediately greeted and seated with a smile. I ordered the Chipotle Wild Mushroom. The dish was flavourful and bold, with the chipotle sauce bringing a genuine spicy kick, which was a welcome surprise. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly, and the presentation was immaculate. Another in our group had the Tortilla. This was equally well-received, with a balanced blend of flavours and textures that made for a hearty, satisfying meal. We also shared the Chunky Herb Polenta Fries with a garlic & lemon aioli, an absolute must-order! The seasoning was spot on, Bold without being overpowering, and the aioli paired beautifully. We’d happily recommend The Gate to anyone, vegetarian or not. Just be sure to book in advance if there’s a show at the Hammersmith Apollo!
