131, Jalan Trus, Bandar Johor Bahru, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia
Lovely place. Like a walk down memory lane. Firstly, the drive toward the place, we drove past the sea to arrive at restaurant was lovely. Fried chicken was good for two person. The traditional pulley of going up and down was very fun to watch! Old school yet practical and innovative.
Must try their grilled chicken chop! Mee siam also nice. Very old fashioned eating place recommended for brunch. Variety menu available. Coffee is also nice.
If you're craving a blast from the past, this spot delivers with its full-on old-school vibe and equally old-school food. Just be warned: there's no air conditioning, only fans, which was certainly an experience on that scorchingly hot day! Fair warning though, it's also a bit dirty, and I mean that in the most charming, or perhaps alarming, way possible. We even had a couple of avian diners join us – two Maya birds flew right in and started enjoying a meal off another table! As for our actual order, the chicken cutlet was huge, definitely enough to fill you up, and the hor fun was decent enough. It's an experience, that's for sure, especially if you're prepared for the heat and a truly authentic, rustic dining adventure.
