A quick walk at around 3pm. Lots of cafes and restaurants but not many people today. Probably more happening in the morning and night time

Heritage area for the old JB old town. Shops have been and are increasingly renovated and turned into cafes and restaurants.

Jalan Tan Hiok Nee, Johor Bahru. There are a collection of old avenues that crisscross downtown Johor Bahru all the way down to the seafront, this must be the oldest part of town with Tan Hiok Nee old shophouses now mostly renovated to their original style to create a wonderful atmosphere for locals and visitors. Tan Hiok Nee is essentially now a walking street, the Town Council have widened the pavements on both sides squeezing the road into a single vehicle one way street. Plenty of eating places, refreshments and curiosity shops, at the high end of Tan Hiok Nee there is some street artwork. Parking: This is a busy and congested part of town, we parked at the main post office, it and it was a short walk to the top end of Tan Hiok Nee.

Vibrant and colourful place for a heritage walk just a 10min walk from JB Customs.

Tan Hiok Nee Heritage Street impresses me as a quaint street with many cafes, restaurants and colonial era and traditional architecture.
