While the restaurant had a few redeeming qualities, such as the dessert, good view, ambiance, the food itself was fairly underwhelming. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but I expected more for the price. But overall it's good.
We reserved a table via whatsapp and requested for a seaview table, in which they replied they have available tables. However upon arriving we found out that there were no available seats outside so we end up seating inside, which was disappointing. The place was also hard to find. It's located in a residential area (11 residences) on one of the condos behind Haris hotel. We walked around a few times until we decided to take grab as it was hard to find. Grab dropped us after the roundabout which is just behind our hotel. Foodwise- it was okay. Best tasting food was the oxtail soup and the seafood platter. Portion were okay for one person and they have platters for sharing as well. Overall experience was good. And price was affordable.
Best western food in batam. Thank you chefs, amazing work. May I know the chef name on 1 Jan 2025? Will tip them next time. Service is poor: - 28 Dec 2024 waitress was hardworking (mopping floor) but not capable, repeated our orders 2 times but both times got it wrong. Simple order 2 mains 1 drink no special order. - 1 Jan 2025 waitress (tall & thin lady) didn't repeat order & 2 wrong order. Ordered beef pasta add salmon, she ordered 2 pasta for me. I rejected the 2nd pasta when served but waitress insisted I eat it & pay for it. I asked to look for manager & she said no. - Drink order had 2 choice hot or cold, did not ask which hot or cold just serve & serve wrong. Food on 1 Jan was tasty thanks to chef but we were too angry with waitress to tip the chef so we quickly left.
Our first meal upon arriving in Batam this trip. This place is actually located very near the ferry terminal and is within a hotel. We like the deecor of the place, and it's spacious, with indoor and outdoor seating. However, as it was a warm afternoon, the sun really heated up the interior, and when we asked if the staff could lower the air-con temperature, we got a no as an answer. The thermostat actually said it as 27 degrees inside. We ordered Eggs Benny, Mushroom Truffle Burger, Mushroom Cream Soup, Seafood Chowder, Wagyu Striploin Risotto, Spaghetti Carbonara, Pocky Crunchy Coffee, Supervision, and Olive Big Breakfast. The Eggs Benny was way overcooked, so the eggs were more like fully boiled - the yolks were already completely hardened. The Mushroom Truffle Burger was quite good. The patty used had an added texture to it, almost like it's an impossible patty, or maybe it is. It was served with a nice serving of potatop chips, which was really nice. Unfortunately, we asked if we could buy the chips as a side but were turned down. The Mushroom Cream Soup was normal, but the Seafood Chowder was quite nice. It was very Chinese-style instead of the creamy western kind. It even had a few clams and prawns in the soup, shell, and all. The Wagyu Striploin Risotto was probably the nicest. The meat was decent, and the risotto was well cooked. The Spaghetti Carbonara and Big Breakfast were just so-so. Keep in mind that the bacon used is beef bacon, so it wasn't as crispy and fragrant.
I had pizza and pasta all are delicious! Will come again
