1 Chome-10-1 Omotecho, Kita Ward, Okayama, 700-0822, Japan
Tofu might be an ordinary food for most asians. However, Okabe's tofu is extraordinary! I was surprised that tofu can be that delicious. No wonder the restaurant is always occupied during lunch time. Not only it is listed in Michelin guide Okayama, but it also one of Muslim Friendly restaurants in town with "peach" logo.
Japanese style restaurant where you eat at the counter. The food is absolutely delicious. The fried tofu was crispy on the outside and had a fluffy texture on the inside. The staff was very friendly and helped us on how to eat the meal correctly. Absolutely recommended to visit.
If you are a tofu lover it’s definitely the right place ! The taste was amazing and the menu could be made vegetarian ! It felt very cozy as we were eating in front of the kitchen and could see the staff cooking !
Small Restaurant. Literally you sneak to your chair to eat at the counter/bar. In front of 3 women doing the magic. Fast, friendly and skillfully: a well-coordinated team. You watch them prepare the meals in a tiny kitchen. And the tofu is of high quality. The taste of the Okabe set outranked the skin rice set by a margin.
Love everything about this spot. Okabe is a cozy, old-fashioned Japanese-style restaurant with counter seating only. I ordered the Agedashi Teishoku (set menus) using tofu from the tofu store attached to the restaurant. Each dish was a delight, and it was clear that a lot of care went into the preparation. Would definitely recommend and come back!
