There are several nasi kandar places in Ipoh, and Kedai Kopi Yong Suan is arguably one of the best! Also known as ‘Nasi Ganja’ (because it’s that addictive!), it’s actually a stall located on the premises of a Chinese coffee shop. This Indian Muslim stall has purportedly been in operation since 1956 – That’s a good 60+ years of finger-licking good food!

Parking was not easy. You have to drive and park at the end of the block.
It was easy to get a table within Yong Suan and the order was promptly noted by the staff. Food was served relatively fast because they have a system in place to cope with high volume dine in and takeaway customers.
They now occupy the side late with canopy for customers to dine in. So there is adequate seating.
Coffee shop drinks also take order very fast and serve fast. Too bad the price is inflated and the coffee sucks big time.
Nasi Ganja is good because of the gravy and condiments. Unfortunately the chicken of fried till it is too dry. Chicken is also undersized!!
Payment after the meal was seamless. Just present the slip of paper that the waiter slips onto your table while you are eating. They accept both cash and QR code payments.
Slight deterioration in the food probably due to the high volume. They have to maintain good standards or customers will slowly find better alternatives.

Food is nice but don't expect the cleanliness and hygiene. You can't even have the meal comfortably because the service here is out. Called for the mamak waiter many times to take order but they just ignore you. Luckily the lady boss of the kopitiam was very kind to help me order directly from the nasi kandar boss. Thank you lady boss.

This place has been established since 1957 and they are famous for nasi ganja with chicken and salted egg. Expect long queue and it is difficult to find parking during peak hours if you plan to dine in or take out. I ordered via Grab this time. Tasted just as good as before and consistent.

Discovered this incredible restaurant back in 2016, thanks to my colleagues, and it's been my favorite in Ipoh ever since. I've been a loyal customer ever since, always craving their Nasi Ganja and Caramel Pudding. A true Ipoh gem!

Interesting place for Nasi Kandar. They have cendol kacang next door. No problem to just bring over. Food is interesting. Three types of curry in a dish ! Ayam merah is the dish to go for.
