my second time here. food was good as usual and i am satisfied with everything! my favourite would be the hambagu rice!! you have to eat the burger quickly as it will be a bit soggy after absorbing the spicy sauce

Many tourists come here to check in. ? Looks like I discovered this place too late! After trying their food, I feel like I've found a new world!? I didn’t order a drink, but they gave us free sky juice with unlimited refills.? For the main course, I had the Creamy Pesto Spaghetti?, RM28. There were so many vegetables ?, I couldn’t even see the noodles! Their pesto was delicious, with a strong olive ?oil flavor. It’s very creamy and well-cooked, with a nice aroma. It’s enough for two people. ?? For dessert, I had the alcohol-free tiramisu, ?which was on the sweeter side. ⚠️ All the food is halal.

Decided to try out this unique fusion cafe located in Petaling Street when we went to visit Pasar Seni the other day. Lovely decorated place —the cafe is fully air-conditioned which makes it more comfortable to sit and enjoy your food. The service was quite fast —it took less than 15 minutes to get all of our food served. We had Beef Hambugu Rice, Miso Carbonara Pasta w/ Smoked Chicken and Shakshuka Turkish Baked Eggs. The Hambugu Rice was something I really enjoyed. Every layer of the hambugu really added different flavours & textures to the overall dish. However, I would’ve liked it more if they were a bit generous with the sauce because the dish itself was a bit on the drier side. This is a bit weird for me to say because many reviews I’d read (before deciding on this menu) actually mentioned that the dish could be soggy due to the amount of sauce being used for it. The star of this dish was definitely the patty & the crispy enoki! Delicious! My friend had the Miso Carbonara Pasta which every bite just burst into flavours. We enjoyed it too! But the dish can be pretty muak if it starts to get cold. The shakshuka on the other hand was the one we enjoyed the least. We both loved the idea of incorporating the mantou to be eaten with it! But the burnt taste it got, was something that I personally couldn’t tolerate. I would’ve been able to finish the whole dish if it wasn’t for the burnt taste. All in all, it was definitely a great experience! Price-wise, this place is definitely on a pricier side but I kid you not, the portion is big big. And it definitely deserves the hype of bringing the idea of fusion dishes!

Merchant's Lane is probably one of the oldest and pioneer cafes that made Petaling Street or Chinatown KL their own home before this area started to enjoy some sort of renaissance (boom!). What used to be famous for wholesale business and knock-off brands, international and boutique hotels started to operate.. and the surge of tourists to this historical area has many entrepreneurs cashing in the boom by setting up business here. I believe that Merchant's Lane started sometimes in 2015, and I came here either within the same year or 2016. Fast forward 9-10 years later, I made my way here again. It was lunch time and the whole premise was packed with lunch crowd. While the foods looked delicious from the tables next to us, we just wanted to enjoy a good cup of coffee and they didn't disappoint. We spent a good hour here before heading home. Fun fact: Do you know that the cafe used to house a brothel in the past?

I’ve been to petaling street numerous times but never knew this hidden cafe through a narrow door beside a stationary shop ? , was surprised when my friend told me about it. Food portion is enormous, a little high on the pricing, but one dish fits two easily. Go for the Ramly patty fried wonton, first time tasting, and loving it. Interior design with wood and rattan, Malaysian traditional style. Service can be better with an added smiles from the waiters. Worth a visit!
