19, Jahamun-ro 5-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul 03041 South Korea
The place is easy to locate, and it is near the train station. Best to order the set meal for a full experience. To top off the meal, it was completed with a small dessert and tea. Staff is takes awhile to warm up to non-korean speaking diners but she is really friendly after a few exchange in conversation. Food portion may be small for some but as a big eater I was full by the end of the meal. The flavour of the food is milder than most korean cuisine. Come in with an open mind to experience and enjoy.
Having a meal here takes you on a journey up to the high mountains, exquisite traditional flavors of fresh greens, wild berries, lotus pond and aroma of the earth. It was a wonderful experience!
There aren’t enough words to describe how much we loved this place! The food - INCREDIBLE! The service - so warm! The experience - highly treasured… The fact that this food has been made by hand, all the elements and sauces crafted to create these dishes is just so amazing. And vegan! What a bonus! We loved it, and hope to visit again when we’re back in Seoul. Thank you for having us Maji 🤍 Ps they were super busy / booked out in advance so highly recommend booking ahead if you can!
Maji – A True Taste of Nature If you're looking for an authentic plant-based dining experience in Seoul, Maji is the place to be. This vegan restaurant takes natural cooking to the next level—using only homegrown ingredients and preparing every dish with care and tradition. We opted for the Local Set Menu, which is best described as a vegan tapas-style selection of small dishes, each bursting with unique flavors and aromatic spices. Every bite was a delightful surprise, with an incredible blend of textures and scents that made the experience truly special. Our friendly server, who spoke excellent English, explained that the set menu is more of a tasting experience and might not be filling enough on its own. Following her recommendation, we added the tofu and mushroom dishes—and we’re so glad we did! Both were rich, flavorful, and complemented the rest of the meal perfectly. Beyond the food, Maji offers an atmosphere that feels both authentic and serene. The cozy, natural setting enhances the experience, making it more than just a meal—it’s a moment to slow down and savor. If you’re open to exploring new flavors and want to enjoy a meal made with love and tradition, Maji is an absolute must-try.
Maji is a vegan, temple food/cuisine, Korean restaurant. This restaurant is popular among foreign tourists and vegetarians. The restaurant buidling is a traditional Korean house with the Korean style interior design. The background music was played in Korean traditional instruments. There were English menu books. I ordered Lunch Dinner Set (런치디너세트) 23,000 won. The price is very reasonable considering this is in the popular tourist attraction area. The staff spoke very good English. Every time a new dish is served, the staff will tell you what you are about to eat in English. The food was delicious and looked really healthy. If you are traveling in Korea and looking for authentic Korean restaurant, this is it!
