The staff here are very friendly, and there was a lot of laughter while I was having my lunch. It was a really nice atmosphere. Don't be discouraged if you see no seats available because there are more upstairs. The menu has a lot of options, all properly labeled. I ordered seaweed fried rice and iced peach tea. Both were very delicious.
A close friend introduced us to this vegetarian restaurant that has stood the test of time. According to him, he has been frequenting this place for the last 35 years! A no-frills, affordable but delicious Chinese vegetarian food. An extensive menu with mock meat that is indiscernible from the real thing. From mutton curry, yam basket, fried wantan, asam fish, etc, everything was delicious. Price is also very reasonable. Parking is a bit challenging but the Masjid Jamel LRT station is a good option.
I consider this place a gem in Kuala Lumpur. 100% vegetarian restaurant with many vegan options. The place is extremely spartan and authentic, family-run. The staff speaks English and are really nice people. Authentic food, excellent, good flavor and at a low price. Perfect for a quick stop. Overall it is not the classic restaurant from which you would expect 5 stars, but it stole my heart.
The noodles soup in eggs was still consistently good through the years, with a good portion of noodles in the old taste soup with a very generous portion of fried eggs. Really satisfied.
I wanted to have some vegan food in KL that was within walking distance from my accommodation. This was one of the nearest ones. Upon stepping foot they did have a small 'mix and choose' buffet station (akin to 'nasi campur') but as the staff wasn't sure whether any of the options available was vegan, I chose to pursue ordering food off their menu. The menu marks dishes that are 'vegan', 'spicy', has 'eggs' and/or contains 'dairy'. This made it easier for me to pinpoint which dish I wanted to order (bak kut teh served with rice). The restaurant also does daily meal specials. On the day I came (Tuesday) they had assam laksa - which I also ordered for takeout. As the restaurant is small and seating is limited, it is expected to share a table with other customers when dining in. I don't normally do takeout and prefer dining in. However, the effort and care they did to pack my meal to ensure I had enough/same amount of portion as if I was dining in was great! Staff were friendly and offered good service! Would love to come here again and actually dine in next time I'm in KL!
