This restaurant is listed as no pork & no alcohol on the JAPAN NATIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATION (JNTO : the Official Guide), but it is NOT HALAL & NOT MUSLIM-FRIENDLY as they have pork dish/es & alcohol served in their restaurant.

As it was my 1st time in Japan, after Googling extensively on halal/muslim-friendly eateries in Osaka, I happily went to this restaurant.

Initially, when I asked the service crew if the restaurant was halal/muslim-friendly, the elderly lady replied positively & removed 2 to 3 of the soya sauce bottles on the table.

After ordering the largest "complete" tempura set on the menu, I added 1 piece of shisamo (smelt fish).

The tempura items were served individually, which meant that they were freshly-made-to-order, which I thought was good.

Though, the batter was not thin enough for tempura & all of the items were very oily, which meant that they were poorly drained by the chefs prior to serving them to me.

I think I have had better tempura at another restaurant in Sapporo, and even back in my own home country & neighbouring countries.

Being a tempura restaurant, I was utterly disappointed in the quality of the tempura items served to me.

Though, this was not the reason that I felt very compelled to review this restaurant.

The actual reason was to warn other Muslim would-be patrons to try other halal/muslim-friendly restaurants.

After completing my meal, I took another scan of the menu & realised that they have asparagus wrapped in pork bacon. I am not sure if they have other pork dish/es on their menu, but I think that 1 was enough to confirm that the restaurant is NOT HALAL/MUSLIM-MUSLIM-FRIENDLY.

When I called upon another younger lady server who could communicate basic English with me, she confirmed it. I pointed out that I had thought the restaurant was halal/muslim-friendly, with no pork.

I then wondered if they had used the same oil to fry all the tempura items together.

I did not confirm it as I was already upset with myself for not doing due diligence BEFORE ordering.

Thus, I take full responsibility for my own mistakes & not blame any of the crew, as they were just trying their best to sell their F&B services.

I hope this long review somehow helps, especially the Muslim community visiting Japan, particularly Osaka.

Would not recommend.

Photos at Kyoto station are deceiving and make this place look 100x better than it is.

Food is bland. Tempura is soggy, oil is clean but the batter needs work. Honest opinion id rather eat cardboard out of my recycling bin.

Service is great.

I think the main attraction is that the cooker will directly send the fresh fried tempura to your table. But the flavor wasn’t particular. Also for me the amount of rice was too little. After a tired day,  it didn’t really satisfy my belly.

There’s a branch in Osaka Tennoji’s Mio mall and I don’t recommend this place. Spent ¥1800 on a tempura set meal but felt like I ate nothing. Portions were small and I’ve had much better tempura elsewhere. The tempura here was greasy. Regret coming here.

The only saving grace was the very polite service from the waitress.
